OpenAI Management Faces Lawsuit as CEO Sam Altman Is Dismissed

Lawsuit Against OpenAI Management
In the last days of the previous week, the management dismissed OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and used a very harsh language. Sam’s dismissal was a surprise to him, but almost the entire team supported him. After the threat from over 700 employees that they would switch to Microsoft if Sam was not present and Microsoft’s welcoming gesture, the company had to backtrack.
As if it wasn’t dizzying enough, now sources familiar with the matter say that investors may file a lawsuit against the company’s board of directors due to the decision to terminate CEO Sam Altman’s employment. According to a recent Reuters report, investors were concerned about the potential loss of massive amounts of money due to this critical decision. The report states;
“Investors are concerned that they could lose hundreds of millions of dollars they have invested in OpenAI, which is the most sought-after venture in the rapidly growing productive AI sector, along with the potential collapse.”
The Boss Returns to the Company
The brain team at the company insisted that Sam should come back. Their strong stance had reached a level that threatened the future of OpenAI. Roughly 700 out of 770 employees said they would quit if he didn’t return. They were convincing in this regard because Sam quickly reached an agreement with Microsoft and ensured the technology giant’s embrace.
In his recent post, Altman wrote;
“I love OpenAI, and everything I have done in the past few days has been to serve this team and its mission. When I decided to join Microsoft on Sunday night, it was clear that this was the best path for me and the team. I am returning to OpenAI with the support of the new board and Satya.”
Satya is currently the CEO of Microsoft and also the biggest investor in OpenAI.
