Polymarket, a decentralized prediction market, has revealed that former President Donald Trump holds a 15% lead over Kamala Harris in the race for the White House. This is the largest lead Trump has had over Harris since she joined the presidential race. With less than three weeks until the election, Polymarket users have bet on a 58% chance of Trump winning, while Harris’s odds have dropped to 43.1%. The “Presidential Election Winner 2024” market on Polymarket has seen significant betting volumes, reaching almost $2 billion ahead of the Nov. 4 election. Trump has been the preferred candidate, garnering over $561 million in bets compared to Harris’s $381 million. Both candidates have made policy promises to win over crypto voters, with Trump positioning himself as the “crypto president” and Harris pledging support for innovative technologies and crypto-friendly regulatory frameworks. The popularity of election contracts on platforms like Polymarket has been increasing, with recent integration into Bloomberg’s terminal and a mention by Elon Musk. Competitors such as Kalshi have also received court approval to list Congressional contracts, paving the way for more offerings around the presidential outcomes.
