Shibarium Mainnet Progress: Shiba Inu Team’s Efforts and Scaling Endeavors

  • On August 18, the team began work to get the mainnet up and running again.
  • As of this writing, Shibarium is running in closed mode.

The Shiba Inu team announced on their blog that they have begun the third day of work on restarting the Shibarium mainnet.

The statement says they will work on scaling the network on August 21 and conduct another round of testing before reopening Shibarium to the public.

“The team is focused on ensuring security measures are in place and has begun testing the blockchain. Shibarium is now operating in closed mode and producing blocks as usual,” the developers wrote in a message.

Reminder, Shiba Inu launched the main Shibarium network on August 16. However, after the launch, the network “crashed,” with transactions hanging on hold.

On Aug. 18, the team began work on restarting the mainnet and reached out to Unification, a company that had been working on scaling the blockchain.

On Aug. 19, the Shiba Inu team spent a second day working on improving the mainnet. Then they restarted the blockchain and it worked without any identified problems.

However, this was only a temporary internal test. In addition, the developers were able to increase the scaling of Shibarium operations by 1500% with Alchemy.
