South Korean cellular operator SK Telecom announced a strategic partnership (MOU) with Polygon Labs. The agreement is aimed at boosting Web3 development.

The deal will integrate NFT marketplace TopPort and a cryptocurrency wallet, which SK Telecom plans to release by the end of 2023, into the Polygon ecosystem.

This is stated in a press release from the operator.

In addition, Polygon Ventures will participate in incubation programs to support South Korean Web3 startups.

However, neither the amounts nor the names of specific projects were specified in the publication.

“SK Telecom’s blockchain service technology and expertise accumulated over the past few years will be combined with Polygon Labs’ infrastructure and ecosystem to lay the foundation for further popularization of the sector,” said Oh Se-hyun, head of SK Telecom’s Web3 division.

CEO of Polygon Labs Marc Boiron also commented on the agreement. In his words, this is an important step for the company to further scale.
