Trump’s Latest NFTs Top $2 Million in Sales—With Only 5% Sold So Far

Trump’s latest NFT collection has already surpassed $2 million in sales, despite only 5% of the cards being sold so far. The collection features digital trading cards of the former president in various poses and costumes, and it has been able to achieve this impressive sales figure in a weakened NFT market. In comparison, CryptoPunks, the most valuable NFT collection, generated less than half of that volume within the last 24 hours. However, considering the large size of Trump’s collection, the number of buyers at this point is relatively low, with only 20,700 cards minted out of a potential 360,000. Selling just 5.7% of the total supply in a day would typically be viewed as a failure for most NFT collections. Trump’s previous NFT collections sold out quickly, but they were much smaller in scale. If Trump manages to sell out his latest project, it has the potential to earn $35.6 million. The funds raised will not be used for his presidential campaign but rather for fulfilling bonus perks for NFT buyers, such as attending a gala dinner with Trump or receiving Trump-branded merchandise. It is worth noting that these NFTs cannot be resold on secondary marketplaces until January 31, 2025, and the marketplace on which they are currently listed, OpenSea, recently received a Wells Notice from the SEC regarding the classification of NFTs as securities.
