Announcement from CoinPay

According to the administration’s announcement, the platform will suspend accepting deposits from August 7, 2023. User interfaces will begin shutting down on August 17. The organization’s clients have until then to withdraw all funds.

The project team’s statement did not specify the exact reason for the site’s liquidation. Notably, earlier the media reported that the NBU sent a request to some financial counterparties and crypto platforms.

Besides CoinPay, it mentioned GEO Pay, Kuna and Qmall, among others. In a response to Incrypted, a representative of GEO Pay said that the platform adheres to the legislation of Ukraine, but he cannot comment on the information about the regulator’s appeal.

The founder of the Kuna project, Mikhail Chobanyan, confirmed the fact of the request, noting that he and his team “have nothing to hide.”

We would also like to remind you that the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine has calculated the budget losses from the activities of cryptocurrency exchanges. It turned out that the treasury was short of about ₴3 billion in taxes.

At the same time, the taxpayers were not able to pay their taxes.
