Vitalik Buterin gave advice to the bitcoin community

  • He said bitcoin has very strange politics
  • And that’s the main problem
  • Booterin also suggested merging the two communities

Athereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin joined Udi Wertheimer and Eric Wall for a Twitter broadcast on July 6 on “What bitcoiners can learn from Ethereum?”. They addressed several major problems of the major cryptocurrency, and Buterin gave some advice to the community.

Vitalik said that if bitcoin wants to become something more than payments, it needs to experiment more. And the main problem BTC called a very strange policy with which it feels nothing in common.

The main topic of discussion was scaling, and according to the podcast participants, the bitcoin community had a lot to learn from its potential competitor. Ethereum co-founder said:

“It seems to me that if we want bitcoin to become more than just a means of payment, we need to consider scaling options like Plasma or ZK Rollups, both of which have been successfully tried on Ethereum. Optimism and Arbitrum are two examples of successful rollups that can serve as examples.”

Buterin also touched on Ordinals and its positive impact on the development of the Bitcoin ecosystem. You can read more about this in our material.

And the Ethereum co-founder ended his speech on a positive note. He suggested that the two communities merge.
