DPRK hackers hacked JumpCloud to access cryptocurrency companies’ assets

A North Korean hacker group hacked into the servers of U.S. enterprise software developer JumpCloud and used them as a springboard to attack cryptocurrency companies.

The hackers used access to JumpCloud’s systems to identify customers associated with cryptocurrency activity and then steal their digital assets.

JumpCloud acknowledged the hack, but did not respond to reporters’ questions about who exactly was behind the hack and which customers were affected. The question of whether any significant information or digital assets were stolen as a result of the hack remains unanswered.

According to cybersecurity specialists at CrowdStrike Holdings, which is working with JumpCloud to investigate the hack, North Korean hacker group Labyrinth Chollima is behind the hack.

Media outlets reported that a $100 million class action lawsuit has been filed against the cryptocurrency wallet operator after North Korean hackers Lazarus Group hacked the Atomic Wallet project.
