Sentiment DeFi Protocol Recovers 90% of Stolen Funds After Hack

The Sentiment DeFi liquidity protocol team has recently made a public announcement regarding a significant hacking incident that took place on their platform.

According to the team, the perpetrator of the cyberattack was able to successfully steal over $500,000 worth of digital assets.

However, in a turn of events, the hacker returned 90% of the stolen funds after negotiations with the platform team.

The attacker was able to withdraw more than half a million dollars in cryptocurrency from the Sentiment liquidity protocol before carrying out a second attack, which resulted in the theft of approximately $1 million in total.

Following the incident, the Sentiment team attempted to contact the hacker to arrange for a refund, and offered a reward of $95,000 for the return of the stolen funds by a specific deadline.

As a result of successful negotiations with the hacker, Sentiment reported that 90% of the stolen funds were returned in accordance with the agreement.

The platform team also stated that they would provide the crypto community with more information about the incident in the near future.

It is worth noting that this incident is not unique in the world of cryptocurrency.

In March, hackers reportedly stole over $211 million in cryptocurrencies and NFTs from various platforms.

However, in another recent case, hackers returned all the stolen $197 million to Euler Finance.

Such incidents highlight the importance of security measures and caution when dealing with digital assets in the fast-paced world of decentralized finance.
