Ukrainian police are looking for victims of a major cryptocurrency scam

Investigators from the National Police of Ukraine are seeking individuals who have fallen victim to the fraudulent S-Group fund. The fund’s founders enticed investors to put money into non-existent tokens, which were not listed on any international cryptocurrency exchange. Alongside the promise of passive income, clients were also offered bonuses for referring new participants. The funds obtained from these victims were transferred to the organizers’ cryptocurrency wallet. Thousands of individuals were affected, with the total damage estimated to be in the tens of millions of hryvnia. The scheme targeted individuals in Ukraine, Russia, and various European Union countries. Ukrainian citizens are believed to be behind the operation, and investigations are ongoing with the aim of holding the responsible parties accountable. The National Police urge victims to come forward and contact them for further assistance. In related news, Gary Gensler, the head of the US Securities and Exchange Commission, recently warned about the increasing prevalence of scams in the crypto industry, as fraudsters take advantage of the growing popularity of digital assets and exploit unsuspecting retail investors.
