Bitmain Launches Antminer KS3: A New ASIC Miner for Kaspa Cryptocurrency

Biggest manufacturer of mining equipment Bitmain introduced a new ASIC-miner Antminer KS3.
It is designed to mine the not too well known cryptocurrency Kaspa with a capitalization of $356 million.

The device has a capacity of 8.3 terahash with a power consumption of 3,188 watts. Efficiency reaches 0.38 J per gigash.

The price of the device is still unknown, but the company offers a contest – if the buyer correctly guesses the price of the miner within 3 days, he will receive a coupon for a discount of $ 10,000.

Kaspa’s official Twitter account suggested that the Antminer KS3 would cost $15,999.

Order acceptance will begin May 19, with customers needing to give the company a deposit to purchase the devices.

Sales will start on May 26 – first of all, the devices will be distributed among customers who have made a deposit. Up to 30 ASIC miners can be sold per customer. Deliveries will start in August of this year.

Kaspa cryptocurrency is built on the GHOSTDAG protocol, created by Yonatan Sompolinsky in 2013.

KAS coin has not become very popular, and in the last month its price fell by 30%. Kaspa is now trading at $0.0192 and there are 18.5 billion KAS in circulation.

Recall that in January, the Chinese manufacturer introduced an upgraded ASIC-miner Antminer S19j Pro+.
