Majority of Americans Have No Plans to Invest in Cryptocurrencies, Says Pew Research

As per the results of a recent survey conducted by Pew Research, the majority of Americans, about 70%, have no intention of investing in cryptocurrencies in the near future.

The study reveals that a lack of confidence in the safety and security of investing in digital assets, due to high volatility, high-profile bankruptcies, and regulatory ambiguity, has left many Americans skeptical about investing in cryptocurrency.

The study shows that despite the fact that 88% of Americans have heard of cryptocurrencies, three-quarters of them are uncertain about their reliability.

Furthermore, almost half of those who are aware of cryptocurrencies are not sure about the safety of investing and trading digital currencies.

Only 18% of respondents said they are willing to study the issue more carefully before investing, while 31% of those who have previously invested or traded digital assets do not currently own any cryptocurrency.

The study also revealed that only 19% of Americans support the imposition of tough industry regulations by the US administration.

It is worth noting that the preferences and degree of involvement of American citizens in the crypto industry have remained relatively unchanged since the previous study conducted in 2021, which reported that 86% of US adults were familiar with cryptocurrencies and 16% invested in them.
