PostFinance launched retail cryptocurrency services

The Swiss systemically important bank PostFinance has launched a retail offer of crypto assets for its clients.

The PostFinance administration announces that starting from Wednesday, February 21, transactions with digital assets will be available to all 2.5 million clients of Swiss post offices. The initial list includes 11 cryptocurrencies, and the minimum private investment is limited to $50.

In addition to trading digital assets, PostFinance will offer clients the placement of cryptocurrencies in depository and savings accounts. Bank clients will be able to access cryptocurrency offers 24/7 through their online account or PostFinance app.

“With PostFinance’s entry into the digital asset market, we are meeting the needs of our clients, namely the need for a reliable provider for trading and protecting cryptocurrencies,” PostFinance said.

It is noted that the launch of retail cryptocurrency services became possible after the conclusion of a partnership agreement between PostFinance and the Sygnum cryptobank in April last year.

Earlier, a member of the board of the second largest banking group in Germany, DZ BANK, Souad Benkredda, said that the company is preparing to launch its own service for trading digital assets.
