Raoul Pal: “In 2030, half the world’s population will own cryptocurrencies”

Prominent former Goldman Sachs executive Raoul Pal drew a parallel between the rapid adoption of the Internet in its early years and the growing popularity of cryptocurrencies since 2016, when the user count surpassed one million for the first time.

Real Vision CEO Raoul Pal (Real Vision) confidently predicts that the number of cryptocurrency users could exceed four billion. By Pal’s calculations, the Internet was the most rapidly spreading technology the world had ever witnessed, with users increasing by approximately 76% annually initially, and then 43% annually eight years after its inception.

“Cryptocurrencies are growing at a rate of 137% per year. If we compare crypto assets to the Internet at a similar stage of development, cryptocurrencies now have 516 million users compared to the Internet’s 187 million users,” explained Pal.

The crypto enthusiast proposed that by the end of 2025, around 1.1 billion people will own cryptocurrencies, and this figure will rise to four billion users by the start of the new decade. This would account for half of the global population.

In late 2021, Raoul Pal confidently stated that Ethereum could outperform Bitcoin, despite the introduction of spot Bitcoin ETFs in the United States. Recently, Pal has suggested that Bitcoin could reach a trading price of $250,000 in the near future.
