CleanSpark announced the purchase of 12,500 Antminer S19 XP ASICs

American mining company CleanSpark continues to expand its business – the firm has signed a $40.5 million contract to buy 12,500 Bitmain Antminer S19 XP units.</div

The deal is quite lucrative for the mining company – CleanSpark is paying $23 per terahash of power, which is below market prices. Antminer S19 XP ASIC miners have an efficiency of 21.5 J per terahash, and the total power of each device is 141 TX/s. Thus, the total hash rate of the company’s equipment will increase by 1.76 E/s.

As part of the agreement, the first 6,000 units will be delivered to CleanSpark this June. The remaining batch of 6,500 miners will be delivered in August. The company now has a fleet of 67,700 units, with farms located in Georgia. The firm has mined 2,395 BTC since the beginning of this year, which is $64.6 million at current exchange rates.

“This purchase ensures that we are ready to meet and even exceed our ambitious goal of achieving a hash rate of 16 Eh/s by the end of this year, and also makes us the most efficient mining company in terms of hash rate to energy consumption ratio,” said CleanSpark CEO Zach Bradford.

In February, the firm’s executives said they were ready to expand the business through mergers and acquisitions.<br
