An underground mining farm with 378 devices was discovered in Dagestan

Authorities in Dagestan, with the assistance of energy workers, carried out a successful operation to uncover hidden cryptocurrency mining operations. During the operation, a large-scale farm consisting of 378 devices was found in the city of Kizilyurt.

Police officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kizilyurt conducted a surprise raid on the premises of a local gardening partnership. The underground farm was discovered in a utility room, where it was illegally connected to the electrical networks without proper metering devices.

Investigators are currently working to determine the duration of the operation and the amount of electricity that was stolen. The identity of the owner of the seized equipment is also being investigated. This incident marks one of the largest underground mining farms ever found in the republic, with a substantial number of devices confiscated by law enforcement agencies.

It is important to note that due to the relatively low electricity tariffs available to the public, underground mining has become quite prevalent in Dagestan. However, illegal connections to the electrical networks are a recurring problem. Just recently, 620 mining devices were discovered in an underground garage of a high-rise building in Makhachkala.
