Missouri House of Representatives Approves Bill to Protect Digital Asset Mining

The Missouri House of Representatives committee recently gave approval to a bill aimed at safeguarding the mining of digital assets.

This move follows similar legislation that was also passed by the Mississippi State Senate. The Missouri Digital Asset Mining Protection Bill aims to prohibit state and political entities from preventing home digital asset mining nodes from operating.

The bill also limits the extent to which the state can place restrictions on mining companies.
Supporters of the bill argue that it will provide legal protection for cryptocurrency mining businesses in Missouri by ensuring that state regulators can only impose requirements on regulated data centers.

They believe that this will prevent state regulators from unilaterally changing mining zoning requirements without first notifying all interested parties.

This year, lawmakers in Missouri, Mississippi, and Montana have all passed bills that seek to support the cryptocurrency industry and legalize the mining of crypto assets at home.

These bills will allow mining companies to operate in areas that have been approved for industrial use while also protecting the rights of individual miners.
