Mercado Libre, the biggest e-commerce giant in Latin America, is set to launch a new service for its users in Chile, which will allow them to trade cryptocurrencies through the MercadoPago wallet app.
The move is aimed at providing greater accessibility to the Chilean cryptocurrency market, especially for those who are less knowledgeable or inexperienced in the field.
With this new feature, even novice users can easily buy, sell, and store bitcoin with very low minimum amounts.
This marks another step by MercadoLibre towards making cryptocurrencies more accessible to millions of users in the region, having previously launched similar features in Brazil and Mexico.
In 2015, MercadoLibre integrated bitcoin into its payment platform, and with this new development, it is poised to further strengthen its position in the Latin American cryptocurrency market.
