Google Cloud service has become a validator on the Celo network

Celo Foundation has entered into a partnership with Google Cloud in which the Google subsidiary will become the validator of the Celo network. This will increase the security and stability of the platform.

By launching a node on the Celo blockchain, Google Cloud has become part of a group of validators expanding the foundation’s ecosystem. The group includes industry giants such as Deutsche Telekom and ImpactMarket, an empowerment-oriented protocol. Validators play an important role in any blockchain by verifying and validating transactions. They ensure that transactions conform to the network’s consensus rules, thereby maintaining the security of the entire system.

Celo’s collaboration with Google Cloud will utilize Google Cloud’s Blockchain Node Engine, a fully managed node placement service. This will optimize and speed up operations for Celo network participants, and will simplify Celo 2.0’s integration with the Etherium network.

One of the key benefits of Google Cloud’s Blockchain Node Engine integration is the ability to reliably relay transactions without waiting for nodes to synchronize. This feature is designed to improve the efficiency of the node, saving developers and users time and resources. Celo’s ecosystem is now used by more than 1,000 projects in 150 countries, including decentralized applications (dApps).

“Google Cloud is focused on strengthening the Web3 ecosystem, so we’re ready to offer developers the tools they need to scale their applications. We launched the node on the Celo network because we have a shared mission to use blockchain and the latest technologies to support sustainable solutions,” said Carlos Arena, head of digital assets at Google Cloud.

Last year, the Google Cloud service announced its intention to become a validator on the Solana blockchain, and in February it expanded its presence on the Tezos network. In April, Google Cloud added support for Polygon’s Tier 2 solution.
