Do Kwon, Founder of Terraform Labs, Faces Extradition Demands from US and South Korea

During a recent press conference in Podgorica, Montenegro, Justice Minister Marko Kovac announced that Do Kwon, the former CEO and founder of Terraform Labs, along with his business partner Hon Chang-joon, were arrested on March 23 while attempting to flee to Dubai with false documents.

According to Kovac, both South Korea and the United States have requested Kwon’s extradition.

However, he did not specify which country would receive Kwon if there were multiple requests.

The decision would be based on factors such as the severity of the offense, time, and place of the crime, and other relevant considerations.

In addition to the extradition request, both South Korea and the US have requested laptops seized from the suspects.

It is worth noting that the US prosecutors filed criminal charges against Kwon shortly after his arrest was announced.

It was also revealed that Kwon established a company in Serbia a few weeks after Interpol had put out a notice for his arrest.

The arrest and potential extradition of Do Kwon and Hon Chang-joon have garnered attention globally, as the two are accused of involvement in a cryptocurrency scam. Montenegro’s Justice Ministry will keep the public informed of any new developments in the case.
