Forbes: Tether owners became dollar billionaires

Four founders of USDT Tether, the issuing company of the USDT Tether steiblcoin, have become dollar billionaires. If the company is sold, they could realize $9 billion in proceeds, Forbes writes.

Chief Financial Officer Giancarlo Devasini owns more than 40% of the company (nearly $4 billion in cash terms). Second on the list is CEO Jan Ludovicus van der Velde, who is responsible for strategic decisions in relations with banks and regulators. The third journalist names the technical director Paolo Ardoino, who is responsible for PR. He and Van der Velde have stakes in the company valued at $1.8 billion each.

Another top executive, Tether’s chief legal officer Stuart Hoegner, owns $1.2 billion worth of shares in the company.

The company has yet to comment on the publication.

Tether’s management recently decided to invest up to 15% of its net profit in bitcoin every month to diversify its reserves. The company has already invested $1.5 billion in BTC.

In June, Tether said its capitalization hit a record high and now stands at $83.2 billion. This was stated in a report dated June 1. Ardoino said at the time that the company’s success was due to people wanting access to financial freedom.
