Gemini Adds “HYIP Token Meme” PEPE to its Listing

Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini announced Tuesday that it has added a “HYIP token meme” PEPE to its listing. Trading of the new token will begin shortly.

Initially, trading will be available in the API/FIX and ActiveTrader apps for USD trading pairs, followed by the mobile app and Gemini website for USD, GBP, EUR, CAD, AUD, HKD and SGD pairs.

PEPE plummeted 47% a few days ago. The drop came just days after the token suddenly rose 45% and surpassed $1 billion in capitalization.

The developers of the meme-token added an address-lock feature to their brainchild, which, when applied, prevents the user who bought the token from selling, exchanging or withdrawing it.

Even the developers cannot undo the lock, because the owner of the smart contract changes. However, the developers can no longer add the address to the blacklist.

Rere’s smart contract has a token burn feature, but no release feature. That is, the number of tokens circulating between investors can only shrink.

Amid the excitement around PEPE, digital artist Johnny Shankman posted a video on Twitter that captures the process of creating the new EASY_MONEY token in just 27 seconds.
