Tether, the company behind the popular USDT stablecoin, has announced that it is expanding its trading pairs to include Euro Tether (EURT) and Tether Gold (XAUТ) on the SimpleSwap exchange platform.
This move gives SimpleSwap users access to two additional stable cryptocurrencies, further expanding their already extensive list of over 500 digital assets and trading pairs.
USDT, EURT, and XAUТ are currently the three stablecoins most frequently offered by Tether. XAUТ, in particular, has long been viewed as a hedge against inflation due to its backing by gold.
However, Tether’s aggressive marketing tactics have led some in the crypto community to question the legitimacy of the company’s claims regarding the backing of its stablecoin.
US regulators have also expressed concerns about the company’s practices.
Despite these concerns, Tether’s market capitalization has continued to rise, with USDT now valued at over $80 billion according to CoinMarketCap.
The addition of EURT and XAUТ to SimpleSwap’s platform is likely to further fuel Tether’s growth and influence in the cryptocurrency market.
