Haribo Holding files for NFT and Metaverse trademark

Haribo Holding, a well-known German confectionery company recognized for its mouth-watering gummy bears.

Has taken a unique step by filing a trademark application associated with NFTs and the metaverse.

As per the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) filing on April 25.

Haribo is planning to introduce audio and video recordings, along with various other types of multimedia files related to their confectionery products.

Furthermore, the company plans to launch an array of products, including smart glasses, virtual reality glasses, augmented reality glasses, jewelry, toys, game consoles, arcade machines, and clothing, related to the metaverse.

Haribo has been operating since 1920 and is among the largest confectionery firms in Germany, with active subsidiaries in more than 100 countries, including Europe and the USA.

In a similar move, Calbee, one of Japan’s leading snack makers, has recently launched a promotional campaign named “Chips-NFT” to distribute collectible tokens on the Astar blockchain.

Additionally, Papa John’s pizza chain owners also announced in April that they would be releasing a collection of non-fungible tokens that will include three of their most popular pizzas.

The Papa Johns NFT collection features Super Papa’s Pizza, Spicy Chicken Ranch Pizza, and Vegan Cheese Garden Special Pizza.
