Viktor Karankevich: “Belarus is ready to accept foreign miners”

Belarusian Energy Minister, Viktor Karankevich, has expressed the country’s readiness to offer favorable conditions to foreign miners. Karankevich noted that Belarus already has existing facilities contributing to increased electricity consumption and that several companies, particularly from Russia and China, have shown interest in constructing mining farms. The government has established tariffs that are acceptable for foreign miners, and Karankevich emphasized that the energy system is equipped to meet their needs. In a bid to attract cryptocurrency companies, the Belarusian government recently extended tax benefits for such entities until January 1, 2025. However, law enforcement officials have also taken action against illegal crypto transactions in the country, opening over 70 criminal cases this year.
