Decentraland to Host Second Annual Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW)

Decentraland is gearing up for its second annual Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW), an event that will showcase a range of digital wearables from some of the world’s most iconic fashion brands.

The luxury district of Decentraland, which hosted last year’s MVFW, will be the venue for this year’s event, which will run from March 28-31.

The theme of this year’s MVFW is “Heritage of the Future,” which will focus on traditional fashion houses taking their first steps into Web3.

Decentraland is partnering with digital fashion company UNXD, metaverse platform Spatial, and augmented reality firm OVER to bring the event to life.

The event will feature famous brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger, Coach, Adidas, and DKNY, who will be hosting immersive digital events both on and off the catwalk.

Dolce & Gabbana will be hosting the Future Reward Digital Design Competition, while Tommy Hilfiger will be releasing new wearables daily alongside AI-powered products.

DKNY will be opening its art gallery and restaurant DKNY.3, and Adidas will be introducing its first series of digital wearables for holders of the Into the Metaverse (NFT) collection of non-fungible tokens.

Decentraland has been known to host a variety of events in addition to MVFW, including the recent Metaverse Music Festival, which featured over 200 artists on more than 15 stages. The festival included appearances from popular artists such as Björk, Ozzy Osbourne, and Soulja Boy.

Additionally, last summer, a couple from Russia got married in the metaverse for the first time, inviting everyone to attend either through a YouTube broadcast or by visiting the metaverse itself.
