Jack Dorsey and Start Small have pledged to donate $1 million annually for the next five years as part of an “effort to fund developers.”</nbsp;<br
Dorsey created Start Small in April 2020 to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, the businessman invested $1 billion in the fund.
According to the Start Small website, the fund now has more than $1.4 billion in funding, of which about $500 million is spread across projects including the Tor Project, Signal Technology Foundation, and Calyx Institute.
In 2021, Dorsey, while still CEO of Twitter, launched his own Bitcoin node by tweeting a replay of Hal Finney’s historic tweet, “Launching Bitcoin.”
