“The document defines the requirements for the minimum class of means of cryptographic protection of information when exchanging electronic messages,” the Central Bank explained.
Commercial financial institutions working with the digital ruble must use an electronic signature, the supporting documents for which have been issued by the Bank of Russia’s certification center.
“The document describes the requirements for the client’s mobile bank and Internet bank, with the help of which transactions with digital rubles will be made,” the Central Bank’s representatives clarify.
The Central Bank is ready to accept all comments and suggestions to the draft regulations until August 11 inclusive.
It was recently reported that banks participating in the digital ruble test will start pilot transactions with real users in mid-August.
One by one, commercial banks are confirming their participation in the CBDC project.. Rosbank assured that it has all the necessary infrastructure to conduct operations on real clients. Promsvyazbank confirmed that it has joined the first pilot group to test the digital ruble. Bank Sinara, TCB and DOM.RF have also announced their plans for the project. Cellular operator MTS has also confirmed its participation in the project.
