Digital Asset Investment Firm Canary Funds Launches Canary HBAR Trust In The US

Digital asset investment firm Canary Funds has made headlines with the launch of its latest investment vehicle, the Canary HBAR Trust, in the United States. The trust aims to offer institutional investors the opportunity to gain exposure to HBAR, the native digital asset of the Hedera Network. This move is a strategic step towards the potential introduction of HBAR exchange-traded funds (ETFs) by Canary Funds in the future.

The Hedera Network actively supports initiatives such as asset tokenization, Web3 deployment, application development, and the issuance of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). By offering the Canary HBAR Trust, Canary Funds aims to attract individual investors who can fulfill certain requirements set by the trust before being accepted.

Canary Funds was launched by the renowned Steven McClurg, who was previously a co-founder and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Valkyrie Funds. Valkyrie Funds, which is listed on the NASDAQ exchange, is known for issuing the Valkyrie Bitcoin ETF, an approved exchange-traded fund. The Hedera Foundation, in a statement, emphasized that the new Trust Fund seeks to tap into the institutional capital of large investors in the United States who were previously excluded from participating in HBAR investments.

With the increased availability of institutional capital for HBAR, the investment options for institutions looking to enter the digital asset industry are expected to expand. This growing demand for institutional access to cryptocurrencies has been reinforced by the recent approval of Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Overall, the launch of the Canary HBAR Trust marks an important development in the digital asset investment landscape, providing institutional investors with a new avenue to gain exposure to HBAR while potentially setting the stage for future HBAR ETFs.
